Yoga in the workplace

I spent the first 9 years of my career in the corporate world and have a passion for teaching yoga that is accessible and relevant whoever you are, wherever you are. Yoga became my go-to for keeping myself sane through all the pressures a job can bring and I want to help others find that.

  • Relieve stress.

Spending time breathing is the number one way to relieve stress; yoga does this as part of movement, a way to focus on breath without sitting silently.

Burnout is a huge problem for fast paced businesses - it’s a complex issue that can’t be solved by doing yoga, but there is no denying yoga can help!

  • Physical benefits.

Slumping over an office chair for hours on end is not great for body or mind. Practicing yoga stretches out the body, helping to counteract all the sitting at a desk.

Bangor University research showed NHS employees who attended yoga classes for 8 weeks who suffered back pain and similar conditions only missed 2 days of work. Those not practicing yoga missed 36 days for the same medical conditions.

  • Motivation and focus.

Yoga has been proven to positively impact focus, productivity and the ability to act calmly in demanding situations.

A company that provides staff with yoga classes as part of a wellbeing strategy is setting a precedent for being a business that cares about their employees’ health.

“Thank you so much for running the yoga session today - it was the most enjoyable hour of my week and the rest of the team also really enjoyed it.”
